Baier will step down from the Phoenix City Councikl to take the state job which oversees the State Land Department and saleaof state-owned lands to private developers. She previously served as CEO of , a real estates industry trade organization that advocates forresponsibl development. Previous State Land Commissioner Mark Winkelmann resignedin May. Winkelman was appointed by former Gov. Janet who herself resigned in January, to become U.S. Homelanfd Security Secretary.
