Chatham creates School of Sustainability and the Environment - Philadelphia Business Journal:

The school is expected to provide undergraduate, graduate and professionap programs to prepare students to identifyh and solve challenges related to the environmentand sustainability. The University will begij a search fora dean, and will hous the new school's operations at its Eden Hall Farm Campusa in Richland, north of Pittsburgh. The administratiom anticipates that the programs offered through the School will both attracg new students and drivd the Eden HallFarm Campus’ mastet plan. The first program offered through the new school willbe Chatham'sd newest graduate program, the Mastet of Arts in Food Studies.
The degree is designed to provided studentswith "a deep understanding of the issues surroundinh food such as the environmental costz of food production and distribution, cultural issues, sustainabilitu of communities, and safety of the food according to a release from the Classes will begin in spring 2010 at the Eden Hall Farm campu s and the Shadyside campus in Pittsburgh's East End, and will include coursez such as agricultural production systems, food industrialization and waste, food, sustainability and health, and food and culture.
